        Celebrating colleagues who live our purpose

        May 14 is Purpose Day at Securitas. The day gives us all a moment to pause and reconnect with why our work matters. It's also a chance to acknowledge our colleagues who work every day to help make your world a safer place. We know that our people make the difference. So on Purpose Day, we also announce the year's winners of our Purpose and Core Values awards. Celebrating these winners is a recognition of what makes us great - our people.

        Purpose and Core Value Awards

        The Purpose Award recognizes individuals who consistently bring our purpose to life through meaningful, values driven action. Award recipients demonstrate how everyday choices can create real impact for our teams, clients, and communities.

        The Core Value Awards recognize what it means to live our values - Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness - and celebrate colleagues who demonstrate them in their work every day.

        Meet Fernando Silva, Purpose Award Winner 2026

        Fernando Silva exemplifies Securitas’ core value of Helpfulness through his consistent, human‑centered presence and daily engagement. With 30 years of service, he brings experience, stability, and deep values alignment to his role at a school in Madeira. In a complex school environment with social challenges, Fernando goes beyond traditional security responsibilities by listening, guiding, and supporting students who need extra attention. Through trust‑building and attentive interaction, he contributes to a safer, calmer school environment. His impact, recognized nationally by Portuguese media, demonstrates how individual commitment and empathy can strengthen communities, enhance client value, and deliver meaningful social impact.

        Géza Rendes
        Security officer, Hungary
        Winner of the Integrity award
        In November of 2025, Géza Rendes demonstrated outstanding integrity and professionalism while on duty at a client site during a routine exit control. He identified an irregularity by carefully following procedures and protecting the client’s interests, and when he was later offered cash in exchange for remaining silent about the incident, Géza refused without hesitation and immediately reported the attempted bribe to his team leader. Through his actions, Géza clearly embodied Securitas’ core values, particularly integrity and zero tolerance toward corruption. He reinforced the importance of consistent, thorough security controls and set a strong example for his colleagues. His conduct contributes to a culture of trust, transparency, and ethical responsibility.

        Yohann Villanueva

        Winner of the Vigilance award
        Yohann consistently demonstrates Securitas’ Core Value of Vigilance through his discipline, commitment, and operational excellence. With 23 years of experience, he brings deep technical expertise and a strong sense of organization that directly improves team performance and service reliability. Despite ongoing challenges related to limited technical resources in the area, Yohann shows resilience and personal dedication every day, ensuring clients are supported and delivery deadlines are met in full. He clearly understands clients’ strategic objectives and translates them into efficient, high‑quality results that meet operational standards. Through his professionalism and exemplary conduct, Yohann sets a strong example for his team and actively passes on Securitas’ values, strengthening consistency, alignment, and trust.

        Winner of the Helpfulness award
        Suzanne exemplifies Securitas’ core value of Helpfulness through her consistent, practical, and sincere support of colleagues every day. She is a trusted point of contact for a wide range of operational, HR, and facility‑related questions, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and never left unresolved. Proactive and solution‑oriented, Suzanne takes ownership of matters ranging from work clothing and vehicles to office organization, enabling colleagues to work safely, professionally, and without concern. Her behind‑the‑scenes support allows teams to focus fully on delivering excellent service to customers. Through her structure, reliability, and genuine involvement, Suzanne strengthens collaboration, improves daily operations, and creates a supportive environment where people feel seen, helped, and able to perform at their best.

        What does the nomination process look like?

        The Securitas Purpose Awards are distributed once a year to recognize and reward individuals who demonstrate their commitment to our purpose. Each year, thousands of nominations are submitted.

        Winner in 2020: Emilce from Colombia (video)

        Meet Emilce, one of the winners in 2020. She is a security officer from Colombia who rescued a 18-month-old girl who was forgotten in a taxi at the International Airport, in the city of Barranquilla. In this video, Emilce tells us how she broke the car’s window and saved the little girl's life. But more than that, she takes us with here "behind the uniform" and we get to know more about her life and family in Colombia.

        Winner in 2020: Ahmed from the U.S. (video)

        Meet Ahmed, one of the winners in 2020. He is a site supervisor from the U.S. who rescued an elderly tenant after insisting on getting access to his home and cutting the door chain. The man was found unconscious on the floor and was taken to the hospital - and is alive today thanks to Ahmed. In this video, Ahmed tell us how the event happened. But more than that, he takes us with him "behind the uniform" and we get to know more about his life in Minneapolis, U.S.
